Contact our Savannah, Georgia office to schedule a nose surgery (rhinoplasty) consultation with one of our experienced plastic surgeons.
If you are dissatisfied with any of the features of your face, we offer the following options to help you improve your appearance:
Among all facial plastic surgery procedures, nose surgery is one of the more frequently requested. Due to the nose’s prominent position on the face, it’s size, shape, and symmetry are sources of concern for many of our patients. The surgeons at Finger and Associates Plastic Surgery Center in Savannah, Georgia can perform nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, to reduce or increase the size of the nose, to modify the shape of the tip or the bridge, to reduce or increase the width of the nostrils, or to correct the position of the nose. In addition to providing these cosmetic benefits, rhinoplasty can also be performed to relieve breathing problems caused by narrow or partially obstructed nostrils or a deviated septum.
There are many different aspects of the nose that a person may be concerned with. Some feel that their noses are too large or too small in relation to the surrounding features. Others are annoyed by a tip that is too pointy or too blunt, or nostrils that are too wide or too visible from the front. Still others have noses that are crooked, due to either previous injuries or genetic traits. These problems and many others can be addressed by a skilled rhinoplasty surgeon at Finger and Associates Plastic Surgery Center.
Rhinoplasty incisions are generally concealed inside the nostrils or in the natural creases beneath the nose. Depending on the desired result, the surgery may involve the removal of bone or cartilage, repositioning of soft tissues, or the addition of materials to build up areas of the nose that are too small. Our Savannah, Georgia rhinoplasty surgeons strive to perform nose surgery that results in a natural, well-balanced appearance.
When structures within the nose are too large or out of alignment, the airway can become blocked, resulting in a decreased ability to breathe, especially during sleep. One of the most common forms of this problem is the deviated septum, in which the center wall between the nostrils is crooked, resulting in one side of the airway being significantly smaller than the other. Symptoms of this condition include loud snoring, nasal congestion, and frequent sinus infections and headaches.
Rhinoplasty for correcting breathing problems may involve the repositioning of the nasal septum, widening of the airway, or addition of support to prevent the nasal sidewalls from collapsing during inhalation. It is not uncommon for nose surgery to be performed for both medical and cosmetic reasons at the same time. Even when the motivation for surgery is purely practical, surgeons take great care to preserve the aesthetics of the nose. Surgery performed to correct airway obstruction is often covered by the patient's health insurance.
Please contact our Savannah, Georgia nose surgery experts if you are considering rhinoplasty. We will be happy to answer any questions you have or help you to schedule a consultation with one of our skilled physicians
