Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Breast reconstruction surgery can be and often is performed at the time of mastectomy or it may be done later. There are two common and proven methods of breast reconstruction: autologous (from oneself) breast reconstruction, in which TRAM flaps from the abdomen are used to reconstruct the breast; and reconstruction with tissue expanders, which are used in conjunction with breast implants.
