There should never be stitch marks except in inconspicuous places such as the scalp. All plastic surgeons learn how to close incisions in multiple layers so that the skin sutures (stitches) can come out within five days. If they are not put in too tight and come out within five days, there will be NO stitch marks. Be sure to discuss this with your plastic surgeon prior to your surgery.
